Accommodations
Conference participants
are responsible for their own accommodations.
We have negotiated special room rates with several hotels and on-campus
residence halls.
Number of rooms are limited, and
you are encouraged to reserve the room right away.
Below are the various options available for lodging.

The Queen Kapiolani Hotel is approximately 3 miles from the University
of Hawai‘i and located near the foot of majestic Diamond
Head and just steps away from famous Waikiki Beach. The 108-acre Kapiolani
Park, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, shopping,
dining and great entertainment are all within walking distance of the
hotel.
Most rooms have lanais with city, ocean, or Diamond
Head views. All include mini-refrigerators, in-room safes, pay movies,
and video games. Some rooms have kitchenettes. The hotel features an outdoor
pool and sundeck, business center, restaurant,
and nightclub on property. Parking spaces are limited and are $8 per day
with in and out privileges.
(NOTE: We will likely be
arranging for complimentary shuttle service between the Queen Kapiolani
Hotel and the Imin International Conference Center).

The Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki is a sister property
to the Queen
Kapiolani Hotel. It is approximately 3 miles from the University
of
Hawai‘i and located near the foot of majestic Diamond Head and 1 block
from Waikiki Beach. The 108-acre Kapiolani Park,
Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, shopping, dining and great entertainment
are all within walking distance of the hotel.
Rooms are in two separate towers. All rooms have furnished balconies
and include mini-refrigerators, in-room safes, pay movies,
and video games.
The studio rooms have kitchenettes. The hotel features
two pools, sundeck, gift shop, restaurant and full bar on
property. Parking spaces are limited
and are $8 per day with in and out
privileges. (NOTE: We will likely be arranging for
complimentary shuttle service between the Queen Kapiolani Hotel and the
Imin International Conference Center.

ON-CAMPUS
HOUSING
For the budget traveler, the East-West Center Residence
Halls, located right next to the Imin International Conference Center,
provide
affordable accommodations. Each residence hall has a reception desk to
provide check-in and check-out services. The desks also take messages,
provide change for laundry and vending machines, issue spare keys, and
provide general information. Air conditioning is NOT available in any
of the
East-West Center residence halls.
We have a block of rooms reserved for SLRF 2008 attendees at each of the
residence halls below. If you are interested in staying at one, please
contact the East-West Center Housing Office directly to make your reservation.
Be sure to mention that you are a "SLRF 2008" attendee, so you can
get the special rates. Please make your reservation as early as possible
and no later than August 15, 2008 for your best chance at
getting a room.
(After that date, our room block will be released, and the rooms will
be available for anyone to take on a first come, first served basis.)

LINCOLN
HALL

Lincoln Hall is a four-story building serviced by one elevator. All studios
($52/night) have cable TV, telephone service, internet access,
and private bathroom/toilet facilities. Lincoln Hall Desk Hours: 7:30
a.m. - 9:30 p.m. (After hours check-in can be done at Hale Manoa).
Number of rooms available: 20 studio rooms

HALE
MANOA
|
Hale Manoa is a 13-story dormitory serviced by two elevators. Double dorm rooms (2 single beds) are $37 per night. Linen and bedding
are provided; however, guests must either bring towels or
purchase a towel packet (bath towel, wash cloth, and small bar of soap)
at the Front Desk. All rooms have telephone service,
internet access, and shared bathroom facilities. Limited kitchen facilities
and coin-operated laundry machines are located on each floor.
In addition, residents have access to lounges for TV viewing and social
gatherings.
Hale Manoa Desk Hours: Open 24 hours a day. Number of rooms available (Hale Manoa & Hale Kuahine):

HALE KUAHINE |
Hale Kuahine is a four-story dormitory with no elevator. Physical arrangements
and rates are similar to Hale Manoa.
