Computer applications provide an ideal locus for situating texts, video-clips, graphics, pictures, and sounds in a hyperlinked environment allowing browsing by learners. The Swahili project is based on the premise that learning does take place by seeing and doing through informed navigating in a linguistically rich cultural environment. This approach maximizes the learners' participation in decision making on content and process of language learning.
